Words to Live By

A Master in the Art of Living draws no distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he is always doing both.

James Michener

Comments:
I went to the 10th anniversary gathering of the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum, which is an organization trying to build a progressive Asian Pacific Islander women's movement in the U.S. They created a video and on it, an older, well-respected, well-known, poised, polite Japanese-American woman, who's been "leading" the "movement" for years, says, smiling at the camera, "I'm nice. I like being nice. I'm all about nice. But don't f*ck with me." Your quote to live by made me think of this quote to live by. I know, I'm taking things down a few notches.
